6	qt	Apples
1	c	Corn starch
2	ts	Cinnamon
3	ts	Lemon juice
5 1/2	c	Sugar
1	ts	Salt
1/4	ts	Nutmeg
10	c	Water

Peel and slice apples in jar. Make syrup with remaining ingredients. Cook until mixture thickens. Pour over apples and seal jar. Cook in hot water bath for 30 minutes. From Karen Hoban (Nana)
